01

Challenge

The W.E.B.S Ltd website needed to demonstrate the same technical quality offered to clients: fast loading across mobile and desktop, strong accessibility, modern frontend best practices and a technically sound foundation for search visibility. The challenge was to achieve this without compromising the design, content or responsive experience.

02

Solution

The website was built and refined around a lightweight frontend, efficient asset delivery and clean semantic structure. The optimisation work included reducing unnecessary page weight, improving image handling, controlling script and style loading, maintaining responsive layouts, strengthening metadata and structured data, and testing repeatedly across mobile and desktop profiles.

03

Outcome

Google Lighthouse testing returned a performance score of 98 on mobile and 99 on desktop. Both profiles also achieved scores of 100 for accessibility, best practices and SEO, demonstrating a high-performing technical foundation across speed, usability and search-readiness.

The W.E.B.S Ltd website serves as a practical example of performance-led web development and technical SEO. As the company’s own website, it needed to do more than describe optimisation services: it needed to demonstrate that the same standards could be applied in practice.

Performance was treated as part of the website architecture rather than a final-stage fix. The frontend was kept lightweight, page assets were handled carefully and the responsive experience was tested across both mobile and desktop profiles. Semantic HTML, accessible page structure, metadata and structured data were considered alongside loading speed so that technical quality supported users and search engines together.

Particular attention was given to the areas that commonly affect Lighthouse and Core Web Vitals results, including image delivery, layout stability, script execution, stylesheet loading and unnecessary frontend weight. Testing was repeated throughout the work so that improvements could be measured and regressions identified early.

The resulting Lighthouse audits achieved a performance score of 98 on mobile and 99 on desktop. Accessibility, best practices and SEO each received 100 on both profiles.

These scores provide a clear snapshot of the website’s technical quality at the time of testing. Lighthouse results can vary according to the test environment, network conditions, page content and later website changes, so performance optimisation remains an ongoing process rather than a one-off target.

This project demonstrates practical knowledge of technical SEO and frontend performance: building a fast foundation, validating it with recognised tools and balancing speed with accessibility, usability, content and maintainability.
