The client needed to upgrade their Shopify theme to the latest version while preserving existing customisations, improving the user experience and reducing the risk of disruption before launch.
Solution
The latest version of the Shopify theme was prepared in a development environment, existing custom changes were reviewed and ported across, and further UX improvements were made before testing and launch.
Outcome
The project delivered a cleaner, updated Shopify theme foundation with retained custom functionality, improved presentation and a safer route to launch.
This Shopify support project involved upgrading an existing ecommerce website to the latest version of its Shopify theme while preserving important customisations from the previous version.
The work was carried out using the Shopify developer platform, allowing the updated theme to be prepared and tested separately before being launched. This provided a safer workflow than making changes directly to the live storefront.
A key part of the project was reviewing the existing theme customisations and porting the relevant changes into the newer theme version. This ensured the client could benefit from the latest theme improvements without losing important layout, content or functionality changes that had already been made.
